– Macedonian Christian Evangelical Mission is an interdenominational, non-profit initiative of a group young Christians, who are diligently dedicated to spreading the Gospel in Macedonia and wider.
Republic of Macedonia is a Christian country, predominantly from the Orthodox denomination, with 2.2 million inhabitants. Minor religion is Islam with roughly 20% of the population. The Evangelical Christian congregations are small, divided and are not so strong to influence the public, the lost and hurting people.
The general climate for Evangelization started improving after Macedonia’s independence (1991) from Yugoslavian Federation. The legislative is favorable for public services and for spreading the Christian faith.
Positive basis is also the existence of the fear from God among the ordinary people. Independently, whether they are Orthodox or not, they feel fear from the Lord, but they are simply not completely aware what it means exactly, and what they should undertake as an action to change the situation and to find the way to knowledge and wisdom from the Word of God.
“The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom…” Proverbs 15:33 (NKJV)
The basic idea of the project is to increase the influence of the Gospel to ordinary people and to influence over Evangelical Christian congregations in Macedonia to start uniting not formally, but in deeds.
The Bible teaches us that the body of Christ has different members, but the overall goal is one. This means that we, as Evangelical communities, should unite ourselves in deeds, in reaching the blind and hurting hearts.
Jesus teaches us in Luke 11:17-18(NKJV) “...Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against a house falls…If Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? …”
We, who consider ourselves devoted Christians, should reorganize and refocus ourselves in order to strengthen the Christian infrastructure, the Christian influence to the people, basically through issuing Christian magazines, Christian literature, books, CD’s with sermons, Gospel music CD’s, DVD – movies with Christian content, increased number of public services, also presented through telecast, evangelization days with some of the world known evangelical preachers, radio, national Christian TV (in near future), etc.
Generally we must start an awakening process in Macedonia.
